Prior to co-founding Accruit in 2000, Brent pioneered the development of innovative Qualified Intermediary programs for personal property exchanges, and his commitment to excellence, service and innovation has thrived at Accruit. In addition to the value of its unique technological platform, the company’s success—as well as the success of its clients—owes to his passion for building and growing customer relationships.

A frequent industry speaker and panelist, Brent has actively worked to expand awareness of the benefits Qualified Intermediaries represent for businesses across a wide range of industries.

Brent earned his BA from the University of Alabama and subsequently completed a rigorous course of study in International Business Relations at the prestigious University of Leiden in The Netherlands. He currently co-chairs the Federation of Exchange Accommodators State Regulatory Committee, chairs the Colorado Regulatory Sub-Committee and is a member of its Federal Legislative Committee.

Juan Perez, Chief Financial Officer, AccruitJuan Perez

Juan became Accruit’s chief financial officer, corporate secretary and treasurer on November 3, 2008, bringing to the business 16 years of financial expertise with both public and private companies. Prior to joining Accruit, Juan served as chief financial officer, corporate secretary and treasurer for Silicon Mountain Holdings in Boulder, where he took the company public and was responsible for its finance and human resource departments. For seven years prior to joining Silicon Mountain, Juan served as the vice president, controller and principal accounting officer of Quovadx, Inc., a public company with revenues approaching $100 million. While at Quovadx, the company closed seven acquisitions. He has managed external reporting functions with several public companies, including Qwest, Inc. and Coors Ceramics Company. Juan began his career with Price Waterhouse in their high technology group. He received his B.A. in accounting from the University of Colorado at Boulder and is a licensed CPA in the State of Colorado.

George brings over 20 years of technology leadership to Accruit. He’s held key leadership positions in several fast-growing companies, including Bendata, Inc., FRx Software, Learning International and Microsoft. George joined Accruit from Microsoft, where he played a key role in the development of next-generation business intelligence solutions. George started his career building custom software solutions and later delivered several successful commercial software solutions.

George earned his bachelor of science in business administration and computer science from Marymount College of Kansas in Salina.

Vice President of Sales & Marketing

Long-time sales pro Dan Belger joined Accruit in May 2009 from Littleton, CO-based Arrow Industrial, Ltd., where he served as Vice President and Director of Sales. Over the course of his career Dan has posted a substantial track record of success selling into large companies, spearheading strategic planning and cultivating new business development programs. With Arrow Industrial, as well as in previous stints with McKenzie/Scott Partners, MMS Incentives, Valhi, Loomis Fargo and Union Pacific, he demonstrated a knack for growing revenues and developing sales organizations, and in his role at Accruit he’s charged with expanding the company’s share in its established Equipment and Leasing markets and developing its Fortune 1000 client base.

Sam handles a wide range of responsibilities for the firm and has assumed leadership for Accruit’s expanding online communications initiatives. A long-time online communication expert, Smith launched one of the first 2,000 Web sites in the world in April of 1994 and is executive editor of an award-winning private political and culture blog that’s among the Technorati Top 20K.Before joining Accruit in August 2008 Smith served as a principal in RazzberrySync, Inc., a Boston-based mobility content and consulting firm, and as president of Black Dog Strategic, his own independent marketing and communications consultancy. Prior to launching these enterprises he served as associate professor in the journalism/mass communications and marketing communications programs at St. Bonaventure University, and he has also taught at the University of Colorado, University of Denver, Iowa State University and Salem College.

Sam earned his BA from Wake Forest, and also holds an MA from Iowa State and a PhD from the University of Colorado.
