As most of you in the equipment world know, AED Summit and CONDEX are scheduled for January 20 in San Antonio. There are two things to put on your agenda if you’re attending.

First, the Start Us Up USA’s “idle equipment caravan” will be making a stop.

AED and AEM continue to educate lawmakers in Washington, D.C., about the economic crisis facing the equipment industry and urge action on a multi-year highway bill and other initiatives that will spur economic growth and create jobs in our industry. We need to keep the campaign’s momentum going and continue to inform key policymakers that inaction is unacceptable.

Second, Brent Abrahm (Accruit’s president and CEO) will be leading a like-kind exchange workshop. This event is set for Friday the 22nd at 12:30 pm on the CONDEX exhibit floor. If you have some questions about how 1031 fits into an operational strategy as we emerge from the recession (including the new NOL carryback law, lingering capital availability challenges, etc.) you’re invited to drop by. This session will be informal and driven by audience questions.

Brent will also be appearing at The Hub with Alan Bealieu and Christine Corelli on Thursday at 2:30. You’ll be hard-pressed to find more business wisdom in one spot anywhere, so take advantage of this unique session.
