Benefit Calculator for Depreciable Assets
How much can your company save?
Accruit 1031 Like-Kind Exchanges allow you to indefinitely defer taxes, often up to 40% of the sale price, on the sale of depreciated or appreciated assets. You can use that cash — your cash — to reinvest in your business and strengthen your bottom line.
On the books since 1921, Like-Kind Exchanges can be performed on nearly any capitalized asset. Whether you’re exchanging heavy construction equipment, car rental fleets, aircraft, livestock or dozens of other asset types, your savings can be substantial.

Notes
The following limitations of the Single Like-Kind Exchange Benefit Calculator must be understood to properly interpret its results:
- First, the benefit returned is based on 3, 5 or 7-year MACRS depreciation schedules. The depreciation is calculated using 200% declining balance depreciation.
- Second, "Years Depreciated?" makes the assumption that the asset was sold on the first day of the Year following the input year (i.e. Years Depreciated input of 1 assumes the asset was sold on day 366 or day 1 of Year 2); therefore, giving the taxpayer a full year of depreciation for the input year and half a years' depreciation for the sale date.
- Third, the Residual values used to generate an estimate of Relinquished Asset Purchase Price are based on historical sales data provided by numerous sources, but may not exactly mirror residual values for all types of depreciable assets. These residual value percentages can be adjusted on the Residuals tab.
