Prior to co-founding Accruit in 2000 in Denver, CO, Brent pioneered the development of innovative Qualified intermediary programs for 1031 exchanges for a Fortune 500 Company. Now he leads one of the country’s largest qualified intermediary companies offering the industry’s only patented technology solution for managing like-kind exchanges.

Steve is an experienced leader of growth organizations bringing with him a wealth of experience in Finance, Strategy and Organizational Development. As Chief Revenue Officer and Senior Managing Director at Accruit, Steve oversees the Business Development and Marketing teams. He spends significant time out in the field listening to clients and working internally to build new product and strategies to support rapid growth.

As the Vice President, Service Development and Delivery, Mark acts as product owner for Accruit's proprietary Exchange Manager Pro℠ software application, while overseeing all technology activities company-wide. He also sits on our Senior Leadership Team, helping set strategic direction and priorities for the organization, while leading and participating in a wide variety of cross-functional initiatives.

Martin Edwards, commonly known as Marty Edwards, is an attorney and one of our key 1031 Exchange subject matter experts, bringing over 35 years' experience in the 1031 exchange field. He enjoys teaching others more about the 1031 industry, including all of the historical factoids about how it has changed (and how it hasn't) over the past 100 years. He also contributes regularly to our blog, so be sure to keep an eye out for his latest articles.

Max A. Hansen, a Montana native, joined Accruit after 27 years as President and CEO of American Equity Exchange, one of the first Section 1031 qualified intermediary companies in the Rocky Mountain Region. For over 40 years, Max has helped taxpayers and real estate professionals successfully complete property exchanges.

Matt Douglas, Senior Director, joined Accruit's team of 1031 exchange subject matter experts in 2021. Matt has broad experience, specializing primarily in the area of “title-parking” transactions like Reverse and Improvement or Build-to-Suit Exchanges, which are structurally very different from a typical Forward Exchange. Matt has an aptitude for structuring such deals, and explaining their often-thorny substantive considerations. His client base is diverse, ranging from mom-and-pop investors to publicly traded Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs). It’s not unusual for Matt to personally handle close to 100 parking transactions in a given year.

Jonathan joined Accruit in 2022 after almost 20 years of public service in the United States Air Force and as a law enforcement officer. While he facilitates all types of exchanges from simple to the most complex, he specializes in Reverse, Improvement, and exchanges involving mixed-use properties often within the Agribusiness sector. Jonathan is licensed to practice and an active member of the State Bar of Montana. He has been a resident of Bozeman, Montana for over 20 years.

Mark joined Accruit as a Senior Director in December 2024. He has a distinguished career in legal consultation, real estate transaction law, as well as structuring 1031 exchange transactions. In Mark's role, he focuses on providing transactional support and consultations on complex transactions for clients utilizing Accruit's integrated 1031 Exchange platform, Managed Service.

A dedicated and successful professional, David Gorenberg has over twenty years of experience in business development and public speaking. His dynamic personality enables him to make effective presentations to groups both large and small, at all professional levels. David contributes regularly to our blog and hosts webinars to share his knowledge on 1031 exchanges.

Noelle joined Accruit in 2022 as the Controller, she began her career in public accounting working primarily with Real Estate Clients. She holds a BS in Business and Economics, a Master in Accountancy, and she is a licensed CPA.

Ashley joined Accruit in 2023 as the Accounting Manager. She is experienced in both public accounting and corporate accounting. She earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Accountancy from Bentley University and is a licensed CPA in Colorado.

Ilana joined Accruit in 2024 as the Staff Accountant. As a highly organized and detail-oriented team member, she is involved in various components of the accounting function at Accruit.

With over 20 years of experience in banking, Tracy is a valued member of Accruit's Accounting and Finance Team. She is extremely detail oriented and a brings a friendly, positive attitude into her work. In addition to initiating outgoing wires, Tracy is also responsible for applying incoming wire funds, confirming outgoing wires, and assisting with account reconciliations.

As the Director of Marketing, Karlee works closely with the Business Development team to generate new referral opportunities through 1031 exchange education offerings and speaking engagements at national and regional conferences. She is responsible for generating brand awareness, showcasing Accruit's unique position in the market, and overall go-to-market strategy to support strategic growth.

As the Marketing Coordinator, Meredith is responsible for managing Accruit’s social media channels from content creation to execution, assisting with event and conference logistics, and content marketing.

As the Business Development Director, Dave is responsible for driving sales and revenue growth by promoting and selling Accruit's Managed Service and Exchange Manager Pro℠ software offerings. He plays a crucial role in identifying potential clients, understanding their needs, and effectively educating on how Accruit's service offerings can address those needs. Dave earned his Certified Exchange Specialist® designation from the Federation of Exchange Accommodators in 2005 and is a frequent lecturer on the topic.

As Business Development Director, Rudy is dedicated to driving revenue growth by promoting Accruit's suite of 1031 Exchange solutions. Rudy will focus on identifying new opportunities, and expanding our footprint in oil & gas and renewal energy sectors.

As Senior Account Executive, Aaron engages with prospective clients to generate interest in Accruit's Managed Service and Exchange Manager Pro℠ SaaS offerings. He is responsible for business development through industry conferences, driving outreach campaigns, and engaging with potential clients within the greater Real Estate industry. Aaron also works closely with the Customer Success team and active clients to ensure maximum benefit and to support their strategic growth.

As a Customer Success Manager, Marita works closely with Accruit's Managed Service and Exchange Manager Pro℠ SaaS clients to develop strong relationships and ensure they realize the maximum benefit from their respective programs. She is Accruit's Managed Service and SaaS clients' first point of contact for answering 1031 Exchange questions, addressing technical issues, and assisting them with their training and business development efforts to support their strategic growth.

As Senior Account Executive, Dylan applies his passion for real estate investment and wealth preservation towards helping investors secure their financial future through 1031 Exchanges. He is responsible for building new relationships via consultation with individual property owners, delivering educational presentations, and attending industry conferences and events. With a strong background in Real Estate transactions, commercial lending and a commitment to excellence, Dylan strives to empower clients to maximize their leverage, reduce tax liabilities, and build generational wealth through 1031 Exchanges.

As a Senior Account Executive, Jillian focuses on driving business growth by consulting with property owners and establishing new 1031 referral partners. She is responsible for answering inquiries coming through inbound phone calls, emails and live chats through Accruit's website, as well as, generating brand awareness through outbound efforts and presentations. Jillian is also responsible for Accruit's monthly educational webinar series.

As a Senior Account Executive, Alex focuses on driving business growth by consulting with investment property owners and establishing referral partners with others in the real estate industry. He is passionate about empowering clients with comprehensive and personalized service to optimize the 1031 Exchange process. Alex strives to support individual and corporate development to create a mutually beneficial partnership.

Vish Mohanram joined the Accruit team in 2024. He brings over 15 years of software engineering leadership experience. At Accruit, he leads the software engineering team, responsible for the proprietary Exchange Manager Pro℠ 1031 exchange workflow software.

Trevor, a Software Engineer II, is a valuable member of Accruit's development team working exclusively on our patented 1031 Exchange technology, Exchange Manager Pro℠. His work involves both front-end and back-end development for Exchange Manager Pro℠ including contributions to new features and quality control to ensure the platform provides a smooth experience for user.

As the Business Analyst, Shannon works closely with the Software Development team to communicate and prioritize enhancements to Exchange Manager Pro℠. She is responsible for collaborating with Accruit team members, and partners, to identify areas of improvement or enhancement and see those initiatives through to completion.

Noah joined the Accruit team in 2023 as the Senior Manager of Exchange Operations. Leading the Operations team, Noah ensures consistency and efficiency in our clients' exchanges while maintaining Accruit's world-class Net Promoter Score. Noah's expertise spans both individual exchangers and program clients, where he actively collaborates in designing large-scale exchanges for companies.

Asher joined the Accruit team in 2012. With over 10 years of experience in the 1031 industry, Asher has extensive knowledge of all facets of 1031 Exchanges. In addition to years of experience, Asher holds the 1031 Exchange industry’s Certified Exchange Specialist® (CES®) designation from the Federation of Exchange Accommodators.

Ellie is Team Lead, Senior Exchange Officer and a Certified Exchange Specialist®. With 15 years of experience in real estate and over 5 years specifically in 1031 exchanges, Ellie aims to provide exceptional client and transaction services while educating others on the many benefits of tax-deferred exchanges.

Michele joined the Accruit team in 2018 with the acquisition of American Equity Exchange. As a Senior Exchange Officer and Certified Exchange Specialist®, Michele brings over 5 years of experience in the 1031 Exchange industry to the Operations Team.

Shanda Turner joined the Accruit team in 2018 as a Senior Exchange Officer after 19 years with American Equity Exchange. She is a valued asset of the Exchange Operations Team and has extensive knowledge of all facets of 1031 Exchanges including more complex transactions including Reverse Exchanges and Specialty "Non-Safe Harbor" transactions.

Maritza Castillo joined Accruit in 2019 as a Client Service Specialist. She has over 20 years’ experience in land trusts. As a Senior Exchange Officer, Maritza’s keen eye, and strong background ensure a smooth exchange from start to finish.

Jacqueline, commonly known as Jackie, joined Accruit in September 2024 as an Exchange Officer, Technical Lead. Jackie brings with her nearly three decades of experience in real estate and 1031 Exchange industry.

Emily joined the Accruit team in April 2024 as an Exchange Officer. She comes with nearly five years of 1031 Exchange knowledge and experience focusing on traditional Forward Exchanges. She brings with her extensive experience in customer service and providing a great customer experience is at the core of her work.

Dina joined Accruit in April 2021. As an Exchange Specialist, Dina is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to the organization’s clients including both individual Exchangers, Managed Service clients, as well as Institutional Program Partners. Her duties include the set-up, education and ongoing support of 1031 Exchanges for new clients, trouble-shooting technology issues, and maintaining strong client relationships.

As an Exchange Specialist, Darcy works primarily with Accruit’s Managed Service clients to facilitate and process high level 1031 Exchanges, as well as provide extended knowledge regarding the IRC 1031 Exchange process. She is a Colorado Notary Public and was previously licensed in Colorado Insurance, including Colorado Title Insurance.

Melissa Welborn joined Accruit in 2023 as a Transaction Coordinator, and transitioned to an Exchange Coordinator in September 2024. She provides transaction support for Max Hansen, Managing Director & Jonathan Barge, Senior Director in the Montana office. Melissa assists with 1031 Exchange setup and management, information collection, and coordinates client intake meetings. She is based out of Dillon, MT.

John joined the Accruit team in 2023 as an Exchange Coordinator. His background in residential lending and technology allows him to provide clients with a high level of professionalism and elite customer service.

Beau joined the Accruit team in November 2024 as an Exchange Officer. He comes with four years of 1031 Exchange knowledge focusing on traditional Forward Exchanges into Delaware Statutory Trusts (DSTs). With over 10 years of experience in customer service and a dedication to providing the highest level of support, Beau is a valued member of the Exchange Operations team.

As transaction coordinator Alison supports Managing and Senior Directors. She is responsible for collecting and inputting transactional data, managing calendars, and responding to and referring telephone inquiries.
